Kaštela: The Hidden Gem of the Dalmatian Coast

Kaštela, a charming town on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, between Trogir and Split, is a destination rich in history and natural beauty. This region, which stretches along the coast of the Kaštela Channel, consists of seven small settlements that together form the town of Kaštela. Each of these settlements, which originated from ancient fortresses, tells its own story and offers unique experiences.

Kaštela is known for its impressive historical buildings, including old stone houses, churches and, of course, the famous fortifications that once protected the inhabitants from pirate attacks. A particularly popular destination is Kaštel Gomilica Castle, which, as well as its historical significance, has been used as a filming location for the popular Game of Thrones series.

Kaštela is an ideal starting point for yachtsmen and travellers. The modern Marina Kaštela is one of the largest and best equipped marinas in Croatia and offers perfect access to the nearby islands of the Dalmatian coast. The tranquil coves and crystal-clear waters are perfect for relaxing cruising.

But Kaštela is not only a paradise for sailors. The surrounding vineyards, olive groves and local restaurants offer the opportunity to discover the authentic Croatian way of life and enjoy the culinary specialities of the region. Combined with its proximity to the cultural centres of Split and Trogir, Kaštela is a must for anyone wanting to experience the Dalmatian coast in all its diversity.
