Outside of marinas, there are numerous options to moor your boat at a buoy or achor it in a quiet an well protected bay. The country’s kitchen combines balkan and oriental influences with mediterranean traditions to tasteful menus served with local wines. Due to these attributes, Croatia could emerge to the sailing area number 1 in Europe
The climate along the coast is typically Mediterranean and very mild during summer time, with constant winds. The north may turn out a bit more changeable than the milder south. Occasionally, the famous “bora”, a cold and strong wind, may fall from the mountains behind the coast down to the water. Then you should look for protection in a marina. Other local wind systems are the “Jugo” in winter and “Mistral” in Summer.
